Sources & Methodology

This page explains the sources, calculations, and measurement definitions used for statistics and performance claims displayed on the Aura Connect website.

Industry Benchmarks

Ecommerce conversion rate benchmark

The homepage references a 1.6% ecommerce conversion rate benchmark.

This figure is presented as an industry benchmark rather than an Aura Connect performance result. The benchmark is based on Shopify’s published retail conversion rate discussion, which cites Statista data. Conversion rates vary by industry, traffic source, device, geography, product category, and measurement method.

Online shopping support behavior

The homepage references a figure indicating that 74% of consumers did not contact customer service when they experienced difficulty shopping online.

This figure is derived from a 2020 goMoxie consumer survey. The survey reported that 26% of respondents contacted customer service when they experienced an online shopping challenge. Aura Connect calculates the complementary percentage:

100% − 26% = 74%

The 74% figure should be understood as a derived result from that survey, not as a universal measure of all online shoppers.

Online shopping cart abandonment

The homepage references a 70.22% average documented online shopping cart abandonment rate.

This figure comes from the Baymard Institute’s compilation of 50 cart abandonment studies. Cart abandonment rates vary by industry, device, traffic source, checkout design, price, shipping conditions, and research methodology.
